Thus for this article we will learn about the basics of physical activity, how to develop an exercise plan, and how to stay committed on the journey towards reaching physical peak.
Life is always Moving;
So what is Physical activity and why is it important to us? Well, we are living beings and life is supposed to move. So we need physical activity within our everyday life in order to be healthy and have a balanced wellbeing. Physical activity is any bodily movement that contributes to daily energy expenditure. It is important to us because we need to be able to manage our energy throughout the day as we survive and/or thrive as biological life. We can manage our energy with physical activity by slowly pushing ourselves to increase the energy we exert so when we rest we have more energy afterwards through exercising your heart and lungs. Rest also helps to improve your energy as it helps you to naturally regain what youve lost. But the biggest energy management that we see with life is through food. Through food you have macro and micro nutrients that affect the body differently depending on what is consumed.

Energy Management;
To be able to manage your energy you need to be able to look at calories that you consume as they are the energy that we gain from macro and micronutrients. We need nutrients in order to survive as organisms. These nutrients come from the foods we eat, supplements, and organisms we eat. So essentially what you want to be able to do is look at your everyday energy consumption through mindfulness and awareness and tracking. So you start by tracking your foods that you are eating and your energy expenditure as well. So you see your energy consumption and expenditure. Then you can manage it through strategic planning to either consume more to increase energy or weight. Or you can consume less and increase physical activity through other means and exercising so that you can gain more muscle and reduce fat.

The difference between exercise, workout, and training:
Exercise is meant to help manage energy expenditure through actively planning a structured repetitive bodily movement. This is what some people refer to as a workout plan at times. But there is a difference between exercise, workout, and training. As the goal here is to create an exercise plan that helps lead you to performance training either for a sport or daily living for health reasons.
What are workouts?:
Following, we see that workouts are sessions of exercise or practice to improve fitness. So when you workout or create a workout plan you are planning sessions of exercise or practice to improve fitness or achieve a certain fitness goal. Remember when you exercise you are managing your energy expenditure not just focusing on your fitness. So exercising is any activity that doesnt have to improve your fitness but rather help you manage your energy expenditure. Meaning you do not have to be acive to exercise. This is good because you can rest and meditate in a way which you exercise so you are still managing your energy expenditure. But this might pose a problem when trying to achieve your physical peak. Because you wont actually know how to use your body. Just how to use your energy. Which means that we need to focus on the part of exercise that is active in order to achieve physical peak. This part is called training.

Here we train:
Training is the act or process of exercising, disciplining, and educating. So when we exercise, we want to make sure that we have a process that incorporates all. We will start by looking at the core for our training session. The core is important to focus on when talking abaout exercise plans that are structured for training for a specific sport or just life and staying healthy. The core is where most of the balance of our body lies. It is where we are centered. You want to maximize core training to maximize power, balance, and accuracy.

Following the American Council on Exercise Fitness Training model to build athleticism and grow movement skills.
Training Plans: A training plan must include flexibility training, strength training, neuromotor training, cardio training, and a focus such as a sport, martial arts, or some other form of physical activity that challenges you to apply focus with your whole body. These components of training were acquired from the A.C.E training plan. They take you through a process to build your athleticism as you improve your performance and learn how to use your body.
Beginning of movement:
When you're first moving your body after being sedentary, it is important you focus on cardio and resistance workouts in order to build some stamina, strength, and flexibility to getting your body back to exercising. When you get to a level where you are comfortable enough and your coach or trainer knows that you're ready for the next step then you can begin to introduce flexibility workouts to get your body ready for strength and neuromotor workouts in order to get you on track to a full time training plan that incorporates multiple parts and gets you prepared for life and/or sports. For us our focus of sport or life is martial arts as it can be practiced for both aspects.
Martial Arts for self defense and well-being: We end our training session with martial arts. Following the philosophy of Jeet Kune Do and creating your own martial arts style that is your voice. As well as Mixed Martial Arts philosophy. You a schedule an intake session with me for a free consultation on your physical abilities and martial arts interest.

Tying it all together: To reiterate, Physical fitness is key to having the right mentality towards exercising consistently. When you have the set of attributes that you already have but are not aware of. Or you want to achieve for your sport or your lifestyle. You can then set goals that have a connection to a desire for achieving your physical peak and you can measure your progress as you develop the skills necessary and achieve an 80/20 development of each skill as you stack them to increase your athletism and thus become the physcal ypeak you are desiring. Physical fitness is important when exercising but so is nutrition. So next month we will focus on nutrition and how it affects us as we go on our journey towards our physical peak.
